Royalty Free
Most of the images on these sites are Royalty Free. This means that the photography licenses on these sites are free from copyright restrictions and are licenced to "creative commons public domain". So this means that you can share, modify and copy - even for commercial purposes, all without asking for permission! However, some photos may require you to acknowledge the copyright holder of the work...but it will clearly specify this before downloading and using these images.
